Kejriwal says CMS survey findings raise questions on Modi's 'capabilities and intentions'
New Delhi: Latching onto a new survey’s findings on corruption in Delhi Police, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday stepped up attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he should “stop being stubborn" and hand over police and Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.
In a series of tweets, Kejriwal claimed the survey findings raised questions on Modi’s “capabilities and intentions" while they had shown that corruption has come down in Delhi government, which “proved" AAP government’s intentions and administration capability.
“Shocking findings CMS survey 2day-Del police (under Modiji n his LG) most corrupt- scathing attack on Modiji’s capbilities n intentions (sic). “Second finding- corruption has come down in delhi govt -it proves AAP govt’s neeyat n admn capability. “Modi ji stop being stubborn, work with us. Hand over ACB and police to Delhi Government. We will deliver in a year," the chief minister tweeted.
According to media reports, the study conducted by Centre for Media Studies (CMS) - India Corruption Study 2015, shows 45% of residents surveyed found reduction in corruption across departments of Delhi Government vis-à-vis those of Central government. Close to a third of Delhi residents reportedly paid bribe at least once in last one year.
The survey finding reportedly say that the Delhi Police which comes under Centre, is the “most corrupt" public service department in the national capital.
Kejriwal has been demanding that the Centre hand over control of Delhi Police to his government. Targeting the Prime Minister after the two recent incidents involving gang rapes of minors, he had said he will not let him sleep peacefully.
