New Delhi: A war of words has broken out between the ruling Congress party and the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the 2G spectrum allocation scam.
Soon after union minister Manish Tewari blamed former Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vinod Rai for damaging the Indian economy through his “flawed" presumptive loss calculation of Rs.1.76 lakh crore in the 2G spectrum scam, senior leaders of the BJP have alleged that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was involved in preparation of the draft report of Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) through the officials of Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Finance Ministry and Department of Telecom.
“The JPC report was prepared by the government , Prime minister, PMO, Finance Ministry and Department of Telecom. They were all involved in preparing the draft report," said Yashwant Sinha, a member of JPC and former finance minister. BJP leaders also alleged that the language of draft report was questionable and the JPC report was not prepared by the secretariat of JPC.
