Abdali, a former deputy national security advisor and Karzai’s special assistant, presented his credentials to President Pratibha Patil on Monday.

In his previous assignments, he has closely worked with the high civilian and military representatives of many contributing nations and international organizations to help address Afghanistan’s security and development needs, an Afghan embassy press release said.
