Terror | ISI link to Ulfa arms case confirmed: report
Dhaka: Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence, or ISI, was linked to the sensational 2004 case of arms smuggling to the United Liberation Front of Asom (Ulfa) militants in Assam from Bangladesh, a detained former chief of Bangladesh’s top intelligence agency has told investigators here.
Former chief of Bangladesh’s National Security Intelligence, Retd Brigadier General Abdur Rahim and former director Retd Wing Commander Shahabuddin Ahmed told interrogators that Dubai-based ARY business group and Pakistan’s ISI were involved in the case, a report in ‘Daily Star’ newspaper said on Sunday.
