ISB appoints Rajendra Srivastava as new Dean
Rajendra Srivastava succeeds Ajit Rangnekar who held the position for the last six years
Hyderabad: The Indian School of Business (ISB) has appointed professor Rajendra Srivastava as its new dean, beginning this year. He succeeds Ajit Rangnekar who held the position for the last six years.
Srivastava has three decades of academic and administrative experience and will be the fifth dean of the school. He is also a professor of business in marketing and the Novartis chair professor of marketing strategy and innovation.
ISB, with campuses at Hyderabad and Mohali, is known to bring in a diverse group of students from various academic and professional backgrounds. In the 2015 academic batch, ISB had 760 students. The average salary offered at the B-school was ₹ 19 lakh a year.
Prior to joining ISB, Srivastava was the provost and deputy president (academic affairs) and LKC distinguished chair professor of marketing strategy and international business at the Singapore Management University.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, he holds a doctorate in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh and an MS in industrial engineering from the University of Rhode Island, ISB said in a statement.
“Professor Rajendra Srivastava’s appointment as the new Dean of ISB marks a significant step towards ISB’s consolidating and strengthening the school’s position as a world-class business school," said Adi Godrej, chairman of the ISB board.
With research interests in the area of marketing and brand strategy, Srivastava was also involved in setting up postgraduate and doctoral programmes and research centres in collaboration with the industry.
