Kolkata: Actor Mithun Chakraborty of the Trinamool Congress has resigned as a Rajya Sabha member of Parliament (MP), citing failing health, according to the party’s chief for the upper house, Derek O’Brien.
Chakraborty, 66, became an MP in April 2014, winning an election two months earlier. However, he hasn’t been regular in Rajya Sabha and is said to have distanced himself from active politics lately.
