Aizawl: At least 66 buildings, including a church, have been abandoned and eight buildings dismantled in the Hunthar locality of Aizawl after the area started sinking since last year, state disaster management and rehabilitation department officials said on Monday.

The officials said one building was dismantled on Monday, while 20 families were evacuated from their homes to safer places on Sunday as the land continued to sink due to incessant rain that hit Aizawl since Wednesday last.
