Mumbai: Social activist Anna Hazare has given a call for a nationwide civil disobedience movement if the Rajya Sabha passes the land acquisition amendment bill.

The Lok Sabha passed the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Amendment Bill) last week.

Hazare also announced he was suspending a plan to take out a protest march to Delhi from Sevagram Gandhi ashram in Maharashtra. The decision was taken after leaders of various farmers organizations met him on Tuesday at his native village of Ralegan-Siddhi in Ahmadnagar district and urged him to put the march on hold on account of the hardships being faced by farmers due to unseasonal rains and hailstorm, said a spokesman for Hazare.
