Environment minister M. Veerappa Moily claims to have cleared industrial projects worth more than 2.5 trillion since he took charge at the end of last year.

Environmentalists have raised red flags against the accelerated pace of awarding clearances while industry is, predictably, pleased. Projects cleared by Moily include Posco’s planned steel plant in Odisha, the Tawang II hydropower project in Arunachal Pradesh and Steel Authority of India Ltd’s iron ore mine in Jharkhand.

On Thursday, Moily cleared confined field trials of genetically modified crops. Here is a list of projects cleared by Moily and stakeholders who will likely feel the impact.
