Opposition complains that discussion on amendments in the Bill is getting postponed

New Delhi: The Bill on amending the MNREGA will be taken up in Lok Sabha on Thursday, Union parliamentary affairs minister Venkaiah Naidu said on Wednesday after the opposition complained that discussion on the issue was getting postponed.
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge raised the matter towards the fag end of the day, saying bill after bill was being introduced in the House, but no discussion on MNREGA was being carried out.
“I agree with what Kharge ji has said about MNREGA. Even we all think that there needs to a debate for having an improvement in MNREGA," Naidu said in response. He said the debate on a Bill on allowing e-rickshaws in Delhi, which started on Wednesday, will conclude on Thursday after which the MNREGA bill will be taken up.
