“I wonder if the wearers of Kotpad textiles know how hard we work to create these colours,” says Jema Panika, who won a National Award in 2009. She says youngsters have lost interest in learning this painstaking craft, and cheaper chemical dyes have taken over the market. “When we go to cities for exhibitions, buyers tell us, teach your children your skills.
