Technological progress, infrastructure deployment and falling prices have brought unexpected growth in access to Internet and communication technologies and connectivity to billions of people around the world.
Despite that, there is still a massive digital divide, according to the latest report by the International Telecommunication Union, a department of the United Nations that develops technical standards for networks and improves technology access to underprivileged communities.
