Rio de Janeiro: Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra on Monday finished fourth in the final of the men’s 10m Air Rifle event in Rio on Monday. The event was won by Italy’s Niccolo Campriani with a score of 206.1.

Bindra (33), who in 2008 became the first individual athlete from India to win gold, took fourth with 163.8 after losing a shoot-off with Serihy Kulish of Ukraine after the pair exited the seventh round tied.

Meanwhile, 28-year-old Campriani, three-time Olympian and 2012 silver medalist, established an Olympic record of 630.2 in the qualifying round. His competition score also now qualifies as an Olympic record. The 10m Air Rifle category was the only event Bindra was competing in. The Rio Games are also his final Olympic appearance.
