Legend has it that Thomas—one of the twelve apostles of Christ (and the precursor of all ‘doubting Thomases’)—roamed India, spreading the good word, reforming greedy kings, performing all manner of miracles and so on.

So far, so good, but unfortunately for Thomas (said to be entombed at San Thome Basilica in Mylapore, Chennai), the story takes rather a nasty turn. Read on to find out just what happened to the good saint.
