Gadget sales are back on Amazon and Flipkart
Amazon and Flipkart are locking horns again with another round of sales and are offering discounts, cashbacks and exchange offers on hundreds of gadgets

Online retailers Amazon and Flipkart have kicked off another round of sales and timed it right before Independence Day. Amazon’s sale is called the Great Indian Sale and is offering direct discounts, a 15% cashback on purchases made through Amazon Pay wallet and a 15% discount on SBI debit cards over the next three days.
Flipkart’s sale, known as the Big Freedom Sale, is also offering discounts, exchange offers and 10% instant discounts if you pay with HDFC debit or credit cards.
On both e-commerce stores, most of the good deals are available on smartphones while in other categories the discount offered is either small or available on older products. We take a lot at the top gadget deals you can consider on Day 1 of the sales.
Google Pixel XL (32GB)
Rs 48,999 (earlier Rs 67,000)
This is the biggest price cut on the Pixel XL smartphones till date. You can save up to Rs 23,204 more on it through exchange offers. Pixel XL is driven by Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 821quad-core chipset with 4GB RAM and offers 32GB internal storage. It runs Android 7.1.1 and will get all Google updates including the upcoming Android O update before any other device. It has a 5.5-inch display with resolution of 2,560x1,440p and has a layer of Gorilla Glass 4.
Asus ZenFone 3
Rs 17,469 (earlier Rs 28,999)
The big-screen version of the ZenFone 3, which offers 64GB storage and 4GB RAM, is available under Rs 20,000 for the first time. It has a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,920x1,080p. It runs Android 7.0 with Zen UI on top. What sets it apart form the crowd is the Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor which is available on very few smartphones at this price point.
Lenovo Z2 Plus
Rs 10,999 (earlier Rs 17,999)
The 64GB variant of the Z2 Plus is selling in the vicinity of Rs 10,000. There is an exchange offer on it too which can get you an additional discount of Rs 9,858. The Z2 Plus is the most powerful budget smartphone you can buy right now. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core chipset with 4GB RAM and 3,500mAh battery. The screen size stands at 5 inches and has a resolution of 1,920x1,080p. It runs Android 6.0 out of the box but is expected to get the Android 7.0 update.
Rs 12,999 (earlier Rs 15,999)
Flipkart is offering a discount of 18% on the Moto M. With the exchange offer you can get an additional discount of up to Rs 12,000. It has a 5.5-inch screen with resolution of 1,920x1,080p. It is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P10 octa-core chipset with 3GB RAM and offers 32GB internal storage with the option to expand it via microSD card. It runs Android 7.0 with plain Android interface and was the first budget smartphone in the Moto family with metal back, before the Moto G5 Plus showed up.
Lenovo Yoga 510 notebook

Yoga 510 is available at a direct discount of 13%. There is also an exchange offer on older laptops which can get you a discount of up to Rs 4,000 more. This is a 2-in-1 notebook and has a 360-degree hinge design which allows the screen to bend backwards and be used as a tablet. It’s powered by Intel’s 6th-generation Core i3 chipset with 4GB RAM and offers 1TB HDD storage. It runs Windows 10 and has a 14-inch display with a resolution of 1,920x1,080p.
Microsoft Surface Pro 4

This is the 128GB SSD version of Surface Pro 4 and is powered by Intel’s 6th-generation Core i5 processor paired with 4GB RAM. You can save up to Rs 15,000 additionally if you exchange an older laptop. It is ideal for professionals looking for a 2-in-1 Windows 10 convertible which can be used as tablet and a compact notebook and can be easily carried around. It weighs just 766g and has a solid metal exterior. The 12.3-inch screen which has a resolution of 2,736x1,824p is big and sharp enough for most tasks.
TCL 55 inch L55P2MUS Android 4K TV

TCL is giving a 32-inch LED TV with a 55-inch Ultra HD TV. The deal is available only for Amazon Prime members, though. For buyers looking for a compact Bluetooth speaker with extra bass, the Sony SRS XB 10 at its new price is a solid option. Flipkart is offering a discount of 29% on it and if you are paying with HDFC credit or debit cards you can get an additional discount of 10%.
This cylinder-shaped speaker comes in four attractive colours—red, blue, green and black. It is also resistant to water splashes and has IPX5 certification.
