The growing popularity of big screens has compelled phonemakers to come up with new ways to incorporate big screens on their phones without blowing away their dimensions. To do so, a lot of them have reduced the size of the bezels around the display on the front panel. Apple too has joined the club with the iPhone X.

Apple is not the first company to do so, but it has tried to take it to the next level. The iPhone X is the first smartphone with practically no bezels, barring a tiny strip on top, to accommodate the front camera and the face ID sensor.

Here are some other big-screen smartphones which have embraced the bezel-less design to accommodate a big screen.

The Galaxy S8+ offered a 6.2-inch screen, tipped the scales at 173g and was 159mm tall.

Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8

Rs57,900, Rs64,999, Rs67,900, respectively

Samsung is one of the first to experiment with this new design language. The result was the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The Galaxy S8 offered a 5.8-inch screen, yet weighed just 155g and stood 148.9mm tall. The Galaxy S8+ offered an even bigger 6.2-inch screen, tipped the scales at 173g and was 159mm tall. Then came the Galaxy Note 8 and the screen size got slightly bigger (6.3 inches). It weighs (195g) more than the S8+ as it carries the S-pen. All three screens offer a resolution of 2,960x1,440p, with aspect ratio of 18:9, and have a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. They are powered by Exynos 8895 octa-core processor.
