Bajaj's Chetak electric scooter was launched Tuesday at ₹1 lakh(ex-showroom Pune and Bengaluru). Bajaj's first electric scooter will be available in two variants - the Urbane and the Premium. The bookings for the Bajaj electric scooter will be opened from noon today at a token amount of ₹2,000. The booking process for the scooter is fully digital. The interested customers will have to visit Bajaj Chetak's official website https://www.chetak.com/ to make the initial booking payment. The company says that the deliveries will of electric Chetak will start from the end of January.
The Bajaj Auto will deliver the first units in Pune and Bengaluru before it will be made available in other metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. The Chetak will be sold via existing KTM outlets.
The Chetak premium will have front disc brake, chrome plated bezels, metallic color wheels and a designer stitch seat. The Bajaj Chetak e-scooter Premium has been priced at ₹1.15 lakh.

The Urbane variant features front drum brakes, solid color wheels, Chrome plated bezels.
Bajaj Chetak Special Features
Both the variants, Urbane and Premium, will have read LED sequential blinkers. The headlamp will have two distinct feature for day and Night. The daytime running light is designed in the shape of a horseshoe. Electric Chetak also has a reverse gear.
Bajaj is also offering a warranty of three years or 50,000 kms on the battery. The e-Chetak will offer a driving range of 95 km in Eco mode and 85 km in Sports mode. The battery setup is a 3.8 kW electric motor with a 16 Newton meter torque output. The battery can be fully charged in 5 hours or can be charged up to 25% in 1 hour. Bajaj has said claimed that its Intuitive Kick Down Mode will supply an additional surge of power in an emergency. Bajaj Chetak's top speed is around 80 km per hour.
The Chetak Electric will also get a dedicated smartphone app to show range, charging and location. The installation of the Chetak will be carried out by a technician at the customer's house.
