Citroen Basalt, C3 to jump on dark edition bandwagon. Everything you must know

Citroen India is all set to jump on the bandwagon of automakers that have launched dark edition iterations of their respective offerings over the last few weeks. The Citroen C3 and Citroen Basalt are two models that will receive dark edition avatars soon. The French auto giant has teased the Citroen Basalt dark edition through a teaser image. Citroen has not revealed the date of launch for both these special edition models.

Citroen is yet to reveal the details of the Basalt and C3 dark editions. Expect both the cars to receive cosmetic enhancements just like the other dark edition models launched recently. Expect the dark editions of Basalt and C3 to come wearing an all black exterior theme, while inside the cabin, both of them are expected to come wearing a sporty black theme as well. Expect both the dark edition cars to come wearing all-black wheels as well. However, no feature and mechanical upgrades are unlikely to make their way into the Citroen Basalt and C3.

Expect both the Citroen Basalt and C3 to receive dark edition models in their top-spec trims across naturally aspirated petrol and turbocharged petrol engine powered versions.

On the mechanical front, both the Citroen Basalt and C3 dark editions are expected to come powered by the same engines and transmission choices. When it comes to pricing, expect these two models to come commanding a premium between ₹20,000 and ₹40,000, compared to their respective standard versions, depending on the models.

The move comes at a time when the automakers have been aiming to ramp up the sales numbers of their passenger vehicles. With the upcoming special editions, Citroen is also trying the same. The French car manufacturer is targeting to boost the sales numbers for its Basalt and C3 models in India.
