Hero Passion Plus makes a comeback in India: Here’s what’s changed

PremiumHero Motocorp has introduced the 2023 model of its iconic Passion Plus today. The all-new Hero Passion Plus is now OBD-2 compliant and E20 ready. To recall, the bike was discontinued in 2020 with the onset of Bharat Stage (BS) 6 norms. It has now made a comeback in the country after three years.

The 2023 Hero Passion Plus carries a price tag of ₹76,301 (ex-showroom). The motorcycle will compete against the likes of Honda Shine and Bajaj Platina.
2023 Hero Passion Plus features
The 2023 Hero Passion Plus is powered by 97.2cc single-cylinder engine that is claimed to offer 8hp power output and 8.05Nm of torque. The engine, as mentioned above, is OBD-2 compliant. The engine is paired with a four-speed gearbox. It also comes with Hero’s proprietary i3s start/stop technology
The motorcycle measures 1,982mm in length, 1,087mm in height and 770mm in width. 2023 Hero Passion Plus has a ground clearance of 168mm and a seat height of 790mm. There are 130mm drum brakes at both ends to perform stopping duties.
Hero Passion Plus sits on cast alloy wheels with tubeless tyres sized 80/100-18. The motorcycle weighs 115Kg, heaviest in Hero’s cc model.
Buyers will be able to choose from three colour options of 2023 Hero Passion Plus - Sports Red, Black Nexus Blue and Black Heavy Grey. New features on the bike include a digi-analogue display and a USB charging port.
Meanwhile, Hero MotoCorp has released a sneak peek of an upcoming motorcycle scheduled to launch on June 14, 2023. Although the manufacturer has provided only a glimpse on social media, it is highly probable that the anticipated model will be the enhanced Hero Xtreme 160R.
The updated Xtreme 160R is anticipated to showcase a revised instrument console, fresh color choices, and the inclusion of Bluetooth connectivity. This connectivity could potentially offer turn-by-turn navigation, a feature already present in the Xtreme 160R Stealth 2.0 variant. It would be logical to make this feature standard across the motorcycle's lineup.
