Honda Dio H-Smart with smart key appears on official website. Check price and here's what all to expect
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India introduces a new variant for its Dio scooter, Dio H-Smart, priced at ₹77,712 and equipped with a smart key.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is expanding its H-Smart lineup by introducing a variant for the Dio scooter. The Dio H-Smart has been officially priced at ₹77,712 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will become the new flagship model in the Dio range. In addition, Honda has also raised the prices of the existing Dio variants. The STD OBD2 trim now starts at ₹70,211, while the DLX OBD2 variant is priced at ₹74,212 (both ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings for the new Dio variant are currently open.
Although the official website does not provide specific details about the features of the upcoming Dio H-Smart, it is anticipated to offer similar equipment as the Activa H-Smart. This suggests that the new variant may include alloy wheels, fuel-efficient tires, and a smart key. Currently, all Dio variants are equipped with steel wheels and tubeless tires.
The inclusion of a smart key introduces several innovative features. One such feature is the Anti-theft system, which activates the immobilizer when the smart key moves out of the scooter's 2-meter range. When the key is within range, the handle, fuel cap, and seat can be unlocked. To ignite the scooter, the rider simply needs to push and rotate the rotary knob while remaining within the specified range. Starting the engine is as easy as pressing the start/stop switch.
Speaking of design, the Dio boasts various additional features, including an LED headlamp with LED Daytime Running Lamp, a front pocket, under-seat storage, an external fuel filler cap, and a passing switch. The Dio H-Smart will be equipped with the same 109.51 cc air-cooled engine found in the Activa, featuring fuel injection. This engine delivers a power output of 7.65 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 9 Nm at 4,750 rpm.
It is anticipated that there will not be any alterations to the suspension and braking components. The underbone frame will continue to be supported by telescopic forks at the front and a 3-step adjustable spring-loaded hydraulic shock absorber at the rear. The braking system will consist of 130 mm drum brakes both at the front and rear.
