Honda Cars India is preparing to reveal its highly anticipated Elevate SUV, which is expected to make a significant impact in the market this year. Tomorrow, on June 6, the Elevate SUV will be unveiled for global markets, with India being the first to receive it.
Following the discontinuation of models such as WR-V, CR-V, and BR-V, this SUV will be the sole one in Honda's lineup. The official launch of the Elevate SUV is projected to take place later this year, possibly around the festive season. Positioned as a compact SUV, it will directly compete with popular models like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos, among others.
The automaker has released a teaser image of the upcoming Elevate SUV, offering a glimpse of its real-world appearance. The silhouette suggests that the SUV is expected to be based on Honda's HR-V model, which is sold in global markets. The recently unveiled Elevate teaser image closely resembles the profile of the HR-V SUV.
Honda previously released an official image showcasing the striking features of the Elevate SUV. The top view revealed notable elements such as a compact sunroof, robust shoulder line, roof rails, body-colored ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors), and a relatively flat bonnet. The recent teaser image primarily highlights the design of the alloy wheels.
Social media spy shots indicate that the Elevate SUV may sport approximately 15-inch tires, which may appear relatively smaller compared to the overall size of the vehicle. Upon visual inspection, the SUV seems to exhibit a larger length, height, and width when compared to competitors such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
The Elevate SUV is anticipated to showcase a robust front design, featuring a substantial grille area and sleek wraparound LED headlights that contribute to its muscular appearance. The rear of the SUV will include an LED strip connecting the taillights, accompanied by Elevate badging and reflectors. Limited information is available regarding the interior of the Elevate SUV. However, reports suggest that it will offer various features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and other amenities.
In terms of powertrain, the Elevate SUV is expected to be equipped with Honda's 1.5-liter petrol engine, which is currently used in the new generation Honda City sedan. Reports suggest that Honda will also incorporate ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features in the Elevate SUV. The carmaker's self-developed ADAS technology, known as Honda Sensing, was initially introduced in the new generation City sedan in India. By offering ADAS technology, the Elevate SUV will join a select few models in its segment.
Additionally, Honda may consider offering hybrid powertrain options for the Elevate SUV, utilizing the same technology found in the City e:HEV.
