Honda's highly anticipated Elevate SUV has been sighted once again during road testing, building anticipation for its upcoming global debut. The renowned Japanese automaker has been conducting extensive testing of this compact SUV at its domestic facilities. Recent spy images provide a glimpse of the SUV's expected front appearance, showcasing discernible features despite the careful camouflage.
The Honda Elevate SUV is scheduled to be launched in India on June 6, where it will face competition from other compact SUVs including Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos, among others.
Recently shared on social media, the most recent spy photographs reveal the impressive on-road presence that the Elevate SUV will possess in reality. Despite being concealed, the SUV's robust appearance is evident, characterized by a substantial front fascia featuring a generously sized grille, sleek wraparound LED headlights, and a slightly flat bonnet, resulting in a muscular silhouette.
Furthermore, these spy shots closely resemble the official sketch of the Elevate SUV previously released by Honda, indicating that a significant portion of the concept design will be retained in the production model.
Earlier spy images showcased the SUV adorned with sleek all-black alloy wheels and rear reflectors. Honda had previously released the sole official image of the Elevate SUV, providing a top-down view that revealed a compact electric sunroof.
Additional confirmed features include roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, and body-colored outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). At the rear, the SUV will boast a taillight setup connected by an LED strip, accompanied by prominent "Elevate" badging.
While specific details regarding the interior of the Honda Elevate SUV have not been disclosed, reports suggest that the vehicle will be equipped with notable features such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
It is anticipated that Honda will utilize the 1.5-liter petrol engine found in the new generation Honda City sedan for the Elevate SUV. Furthermore, reports indicate that the SUV may incorporate ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features, known as Honda Sensing, which were initially introduced in the new generation City sedan in India.
The inclusion of ADAS technology would position the Elevate SUV as one of the few models in its segment to offer such advanced features. Additionally, there is a possibility that Honda might offer hybrid powertrain options for the Elevate SUV, utilizing the same technology found in the City e:HEV variant.
