Kia Sonet facelift to make its global debut, spied in South Korea

PremiumKia Sonet is reportedly gearing up to get a mid-life cycle makeover this year. The compact SUV is reportedly spied tested in South Korea, giving a glimpse of Sonet facelift. Likely to be launched globally by the mid of 2024, the Kia Sonet facelift may come equipped with new features such as tweaked internals and LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), revamped exterior and more.
In the spy images, it appears that Kia Sonet facelift may resemble the design of Kia EV9 and Kia EV5 Concept. One can see sleek, horizontal headlamp design similar to the existing model. The company may add a drop-down element connecting the fog lamps. Along with tweaked internals and LED DRLs, a new front bumper could also be added along with a large mesh pattern.

Inside, the SUV may come with an updated dashboard design featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. There could be ventilated seats inside in addition to a sunroof, a wireless charger and ambient lighting support. Audio system may be powered by Bose.
On the power front, Kia Sonet facelift model may be available in two petrol engine options – a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 118 bhp and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated model with 81 bhp. There could be a 1.5-litre diesel engine as well.
Recently, Kia launched RDE- and E20 fuel-compliant engines to the Sonet lineup. It is likely that the facelift model may also be equipped with the same features. As mentioned above, Kia Sonet facelift is expected to launch towards mid next year.
Before the launch, Kia may introduce Kia Seltos facelift in July this year. It will compete with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV 300.
