PremiumMaruti Suzuki has announced that it has sold over 30 lakh units of WagonR. First introduced in 1999, the hatchback has achieved this milestone over the period of 24 years.
At present, the company sells the third-generation of Maruti Suzuki WagonR which is equipped with features like dual VVT with Idle Start Stop button, a 1.0-litre petrol/a 1.2-litre petrol engine along with a CNG mode having a fuel efficiency of 34.05km/kg.
The hatchback is priced between ₹5.54 lakh and ₹7.42 lakh (ex-showroom). According to the company, the WagonR has a high percentage of repeat buyers at 24%.
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is also among the best-selling cars in India for the last two consecutive years. The automaker has showcased a flex-fuel-powered prototype of the WagonR which is expected to launch as the future model of the hatchback.

Happy to share that the ‘Dil se Strong’ WagonR has the highest percentage of repeat buyers as 24% of its customers prefer to upgrade to a new WagonR."
He further said, “The True Tall Boy has consistently featured in the top 10 best-selling cars in India since the last decade and has also held its position as the best-selling passenger vehicle in the country for the last two years. The Maruti Suzuki WagonR’s bold design, class-leading interior space, practicality, reliability and high fuel-efficiency are some of the factors that have bestowed it with the trust of over 30 lakh families."
Maruti Suzuki WagonR is offered in nine variants that include VXi, VXi AGS, VXi CNG, ZXi, ZXi AGS, ZXi+ and ZXi+ AGS. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program, Rear Parking Sensors, Hill-Hold Assist among others.
