New Delhi: French vehicle manufacturer Renault on Wednesday launched its latest sport utility vehicle Triber at a price range of ₹4.9 lakh to Ra 6.49 lakh. The new offering will be launched in four variants and will be equipped with a one litre petrol engine.
In order to be competitive with the price the company has also kept the length of the vehicle under 4 metres.
Renault will not launch a diesel engine option for the product since the company will discontinue diesel engines from April 2020, when the new emission norms get introduced.
The new product will be crucial for the company since the existing offering have not managed to get significant volumes. Renault will also focus on the rural markets with the new vehicle.
“With the launch of Renault Triber today, we will enter the largest and the fastest growing segment of the Indian automobile market. Renault Triber will reinvent the game in terms of space and modularity, targeted at a wide set of customers across segments, led by the B-segment,” said Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country chief executive & managing director, Renault India Operations.
According to a press release issued by the company, Triber is a part of Renault’s product offensive strategy, which is developed keeping in mind the mid-term objective of doubling the sales volume to 200,000 units annually in India. Renault’s product strategy is backed by its widespread network of over 350 sales and 264 service facilities across the country, offering outstanding sales and service quality. Renault aims to double its network reach by the mid-term.
