Royal Enfield is set to introduce the highly anticipated Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 as its next significant product launch in India. The motorcycle has once again been observed during testing, revealing its true form. Recent spy images originate from Austria, where the bike underwent its final testing stages.
India Car News, a media publication, has reported that the recently spotted prototype of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 showcased a sleek Black color scheme, highlighting visible green wiring. Notably, the motorcycle was equipped with various accessories including auxiliary lights, side panniers featuring pannier mounts, and a top box. One can also observe a larger, bulbous fuel tank compared to the current Himalayan model.
The report from India Car News adds that the upcoming version is expected to feature a fully digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity with navigation, smartphone integration, wire-spoke wheels paired with dual-purpose tubed tires, and dual-channel ABS. Speculations suggest that the bike may even incorporate ride modes and ride-by-wire technology.
Reportedly, the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will introduce several pioneering features in its segment, such as a unique three-in-one taillamp setup. This innovative design incorporates two LED flashers that function as turn signals, indicators, and brake lights, similar to what we have witnessed on the BMW S 1000 RR. Additionally, the Himalayan 450 will be the first-ever Royal Enfield motorcycle to feature an all-LED lighting system and front forks with USD (upside-down) suspension.
In a significant development, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will mark the introduction of a brand-new single-cylinder engine for the Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer. With an approximate displacement of 450cc, this engine is expected to deliver a power output ranging from 35bhp to 40bhp, along with a torque output of around 40Nm.
The world premiere of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is anticipated to take place towards the end of 2023. Enthusiasts can look forward to a potential unveiling at the 78th edition of EICMA, scheduled to be held from November 7th to 12th, 2023. As for pricing, the bike is estimated to be priced between ₹2.60 lakh to ₹2.70 lakh.
