NEW DELHI:Electric vehicle charging services provider Statiq in association with Nexus Malls on Wednesday launched its first EV charging station in Amritsar at Nexus Amritsar Mall.

The charging station is equipped with two fast EV DC Chargers of 60 KW each to charge all kinds of electric cars available in the Indian market. The vehicles can be charged up to 80% in about 40 mins.

With this association, Statiq is launching 17 EV Charging hubs across 13 cities such as Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Udaipur, Mangalore, Chandigarh, Mysore, and Indore.

Each of these new charging hubs in the mall parking lots will offer a combination of slow and fast chargersso that users can easily charge their electric two, three and four wheelers, the release said.

“The holy city of Amritsar is also being developed as a smart city in recent years. A clean and carbon- less mobility system is one of the key and indispensable components of an emerging smart city ecosystem. With the installation of this charging station, needless to say, it would make life much easy for countless EV users in the city making their daily commute hassle-free and comfortable. At the same time, it would also give confidence to non-EV owners helping them in their decision to pivot to electric vehicles from predominantly petrol and diesel-powered vehicles. For a highly polluted city like Amritsar this is a huge stride in terms of also addressing pollution, Akshit Bansal, co-founder and CEO, Statiq, said.

“With our comprehensive outing experience combining food, fun, entertainment, and shopping , we take pride in being the entertainment and leisure lifeline of the cities we operate in. Our Amritsar mall is a particularly lively and vibrant destination for people of all tastes and preferences. With this partnership with Statiq, we wish not only to improve the mall-going experience of our EV-driving patrons, but also contribute to the emerging smart city vision of the authorities in general. The provision for cleaner and greener mobility is a part of that futuristic perspective and we are glad that by teaming up with Statiq, we are playing our part, Col. Mandeep Singh, Center Director Nexus Amritsar, said.

As a company, Statiq offers commercially viable franchise business model to its franchisees for setting up and operating an EV charging station for e-vehicles to meet their daily charging requirements. With the new launches of EVs in India, this will be an opportunity for the investor to be a part of this new age EV charging business and get a first mover advantage.

By the end of the year it aims to have about 20,000 charging stations, the release said.
