Automobile manufacturers recognize the significance of keeping their vehicles up to date to ensure their competitiveness in the market. They continuously introduce new features and enhancements to their vehicles, and in 2023, both Tata and Kia are planning to update their vehicle lineup. Here are five anticipated facelifts from these manufacturers.
In July, Tata Motors is set to release a facelift version of the Nexon, their compact SUV. The upcoming update will bring significant changes to both the exterior and interior of the vehicle. The exterior design will draw inspiration from the Curv concept, which is scheduled for launch in 2024. Inside the car, a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system will be introduced, and there is a possibility of a new digital instrument cluster being offered as well. Another notable addition to the facelifted Nexon is a new 1.2-litre turbocharged engine featuring direct-injection technology. This engine, which made its debut at the Auto Expo 2023, delivers a power output of 125 bhp and torque of 225 Nm.
Kia's Sonet, currently the most budget-friendly offering in their lineup, is also set to receive a facelift. The upcoming update will primarily focus on cosmetic enhancements and the addition of new features. The design of the Sonet is anticipated to become more striking, incorporating fresh lighting elements. Notably, the rear tail lamps will feature an L-shape design, reminiscent of the Kia Carens and the currently available Seltos facelift in the global market.
Kia's initial offering in the Indian market, the Seltos, garnered significant success. However, the eagerly awaited facelift of the Seltos is overdue and is projected to launch this year. The updated version will bring cosmetic enhancements and the introduction of new features, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The headlamp setup will undergo a redesign, while the tail lamps will adopt the L-shaped design seen in the facelifted Sonet and Carens models.
Tata is actively developing facelifted editions of both the Harrier and the Safari SUVs. These vehicles are anticipated to showcase a fresh design language inspired by the Harrier EV concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. Inside the SUVs, a revamped interior will feature a new two-spoke multi-function steering wheel. Additionally, the updated versions are expected to be equipped with a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, delivering a powerful performance of 168 bhp and 280 Nm of torque.
