Volvo's highly anticipated EX30 electric SUV, an entry-level luxury vehicle, has been the subject of prolonged teasing by the Swedish automaker. With its debut scheduled for next month, Volvo has been providing glimpses of the EV through various teasers. Recently, the online configurator briefly displayed the EX30 before promptly removing it, but HT Auto, a media publication, managed to capture a screenshot for a sneak peek
The forthcoming Volvo EX30 electric SUV will mark the automaker's latest addition to its lineup of pure electric vehicles, following the C40 and XC40 models. Notably, the EX30 will have a notably smaller footprint compared to the XC40, which is currently available in India.
Despite its smaller size, the EX30 will still feature the distinctive design elements characteristic of Volvo vehicles. From teaser images, it's evident that the SUV will showcase Volvo's signature Thor's hammer LED headlights, a sleek front profile with a closed panel, and vertically oriented LED taillights. Undoubtedly, the EX30 draws inspiration from other SUVs within the Volvo family, incorporating their design influences.
When it hits the market, the Volvo EX30 will enter into direct competition with notable contenders such as the Tesla Model Y, Volkswagen ID.4, and Kia EV6. Expected to be available for purchase in 2024, this compact electric vehicle (EV) will offer customers a choice between two distinct battery options. The entry-level model will feature a 51 kWh battery pack, while the higher-end variant will come equipped with a larger and more potent 69 kWh battery pack. The top-tier version is projected to deliver an impressive range of up to 480 km on a single charge.
Volvo asserts that the forthcoming EX30 will be the most environmentally friendly vehicle ever produced by the company, boasting the lowest carbon footprint of any model to date. Compared to the XC40 and C40 Recharge models, the EX30 is expected to achieve a significant 25 percent reduction in CO2 emissions. This achievement can be attributed primarily to the incorporation of recycled materials during the production process.
The Volvo EX30 is said to incorporate idar technology as a standard offering, making it the first Volvo vehicle dedicated to enhancing cyclist safety to the utmost level. Additionally, Volvo claims that the EX30 will prioritize cyclist safety like never before.
