Ricky Carruth (@rickycarruth) is a realtor and realtor coach from the state of Alabama. He’s been recognized by Re/Max for being their #1 realtor in the state of Alabama for multiple years in a row. Ricky credits this to his unbelievable work ethic and his motto of valuing relationships over transactions. But even though Ricky has been closing 100 deals a year for some time now, it wasn’t always that way.

Back when Ricky was just a 20-year-old college student, he dropped out to pursue his realtor career. It took him 6 months to make his first sale, which ended up being his grandmothers house. But after that, he took off and was able to collect over a million dollars in realtor fees by the time he hit 23 years old.

It wouldn’t last forever though, soon after crossing the million-dollar barrier, Ricky’s realtor career took a turn for the worst. After the Real Estate market crash of 2005, Ricky struggled to sell any houses, and eventually went bankrupt. He had to quit his job as a realtor and go work at an Oil rig to make ends meet. But it wasn't for nothing, Ricky took this time to beef up his knowledge refocus his mindset.

Ricky ended up reading 100 books during this time, and after contemplating why he failed, he realized that it was because he was valuing money over people. Once he figured this out, he decided to get back into real estate. This was in 2008. And while the market still wasn't hot, Ricky took his newfound knowledge and used it to accomplish new levels of success.

By the year 2014, Ricky was selling 100 homes a year and he was named Remax’s number one realtor in the state of Alabama. Looking back, Ricky believes it should have been obvious why he failed in the first place. And now he has made it his responsibility to help realtors all over the world not make the mistake that he made.

In order to accomplish this large task, Ricky has started putting out free content almost every single day on his YouTube and Instagram channels. he has become the world's first free realtor coach, and he has hundreds of thousands of students all over the world.

But just because he coaches so many students doesn't mean that he doesn't have time to continue his realtor career. In fact, he has continued to win despite the obstacle of time. Ricky says that now he works harder than he ever did when he was working on the oil rig. He's pulling 14-hour days to create content at scale while selling houses and building relationships with buyers and sellers in the Alabama area.

Ricky believes that it's important to continue practicing what he preaches. He thinks that all coaches that are not actively playing in their field will be out of touch with the current realities of the market. And although the market is always changing, Ricky believes that there are timeless principles of success for any realtor, and if they get those principles down there is no reason that they should fail.

Ricky believes that having 100% confidence in oneself and having no fear of getting on the phone and building relationships with clients is the ultimate key to success as a realtor. He tells his students to look at the MLS system every single day and observe just how many deals are being closed on a daily basis. He says that the only reason you are not the one closing those deals is that you either doubt your ability to do so or your doubt your ability to work hard.

He knows this because he's been on both sides of the fence. He's been the realtor struggling to make ends meet, and he's been the realtor closing a hundred deals I'm making multiple six figures a year.
