Most brands are using technology for an unbridled user experience. However, these tech suites come at a premium, require extensive set-up and management process. How can early-stage startups manage? WebEngage, a marketing automation platform for consumer businesses, intends to solve this challenge with its program.
In a digital epoch, consumer businesses must nail every aspect of customer experience to create a much-loved brand. From first impression, onboarding to post purchase, a seamless experience is the intent.
Most brands are enabling technology to facilitate an unbridled user experience. More often than not, these technology suites come at a premium and require an extensive set-up and management process. Large brands can make it work - but what about early-stage startups in the consumer space? They are often hard-pressed for resources, making it difficult for them to use such tools.
WebEngage, a marketing automation platform for consumer businesses, intends to solve this problem with its Startup Program.
The WebEngage Startup Program is a 6-month program for B2C startups looking to accelerate their growth. For the batch of 2020, 50 startups will be onboarded, and they will receive holistic guidance from the WebEngage team to scale their business.
"We have been there, done that, and learned a couple of things, which is why we can use the insights to help scale nascent businesses and unleash their true potential. If you are a change-maker in the B2C world, we are looking for you", said Avlesh Singh, co-founder of WebEngage.
Program coordinator, Nitya Shah is actively running this startup program initiative. We reached out to Nitya to understand what got the program off the ground in such a short span.
What does this Startup program mainly entail for it to differ from the rest?
Marketing technology, if not marketing, is more often than not a core priority for an early-stage startup bounded by funds. We aim to change that by offering access to the WebEngage platform. The marketing automation tool will help them understand their user behavior and their revenue streams by creating hyper-personalized user experiences.
High touch and high involvement are the program's core tenets that make it unique.
● Startups will get access to the WebEngage suite for 6 months with credits worth 20K $USD. They will be able to plug-and-play with templates and industry-specific use cases.
● The program comes with devoted onboarding advisors who will help fast-track integration and onboarding processes, equip the startups with product training and guidance.
● In addition to the above, the startups also get in-depth reporting, business reviews, and comprehensive analytics to track and measure campaign performance and business growth.
How will the program benefit the startups?
The scope of the program will not only enable startups to gain momentum in understanding their customers but also allow them to accelerate the process of improving the customer experience, a much-needed aspect of the B2C ecosystem. The participant startups will be able to:
Trigger First-Time Conversions - The platform enables you to reach out to first time users through multiple channels and facilitate conversions
Improve Repeat Purchases and Retention Rate- Effective campaigns through the platform will help drive retention rate and increase repeat transactions.
Humanize Customer Communication- Omnichannel engagement helps businesses be where their customers are, making the process more personalised.
Get Access to Dedicated Growth Advisors - The program comes with a team of experts who will help navigate through the journey to maximize results
Track Growth With In-Depth Reporting & Analytics - Extensive reports and analysis will accelerate decision making and ensure growth.
The above factors will accelerate the transition from a startup to a sustainable high growth company with a defined strategy and solve challenges such as user engagement and retention.
You have already chosen 15 startups. How has that journey been like so far?
It's been an enthralling journey to be able to witness and evaluate the applicant pool till now and equally consuming to shortlist the first 15 startups.
We lay significant emphasis on the startup stage because while we are on the hunt for early-stage startups, we do not want to disrupt a set-up by altering focus to martech while they still need to build out the product. Along with that are the founders' passion and vision of the startup and its market size to flourish.
It is an extensive process to vet the applications. Sometimes we also get in touch with the founders to better understand their perspective better to comprehend their vision.
Last but not least, how will Webengage benefit from the program?
This pandemic has probably altered the definition of 'benefits' for many across the globe. While Webengage is not a startup anymore, we know how a marketing automation tool can make life easier for a growth-centric startup.
The passion quotient in a founder is usually unbounded, and they are always looking for continuous innovation. We recognize that drive well, and wanted to help such passionate entrepreneurs grow with this program. The idea is to power the journey to greatness for some of the future unicorns early on, and add some marquee names to our customer base.
Airblack enables people to learn passion skills by taking live group workshops from curated experts and creators and it has recently been onboarded to the WebEngage Startup Program.
“ It was very important that we understood what our current learners needed and engaged with them personally. The startup program turned out to be ideal for us to apply. Now, with WebEngage, we also plan to nurture our prospective learners with the right message at the right time hoping to make the experience completely seamless."
Another member of the program is Kyt, an online-first, global academy for extracurriculars, designed by the best educators from around the world. They offer private and small group online classes for kids.
“Our key focus has been user engagement & retention since day zero. We are glad that the startup program commenced at a time when we were just beginning our journey. As part of our onboarding, we received integration assistance, vertical domain expertise and round the clock support. The webengage platform will allow us to stay on top of our user engagement and ensure that the customer funnel is appropriately addressed" says Abhishek Bhalla, Product Operations at Kyt.
