The project conceptualized by the 15-year old intern turned out to be a huge success for the company. In a week, a link was generated of about 65 leads for oxygen, ICU beds, plasma and medicines that were verified and circulated across social media.
They say social media is deceptive. But if used smartly, social media platforms can turn out to be a boon. During the crucial time of the COVID-19 pandemic, social media has become an essential part of everyone’s life. What we see on the internet is not the actual reality. It would not be wrong to say that reality has become virtual. In these challenging times, many people have faced the wrath of losing jobs due to no business. The coronavirus crisis has brought a complete slowdown of work globally. We have witnessed and heard different stories of people suffering from and overcoming this deadly virus.
Just when everyone thought that the situation was getting better, the second wave of coronavirus pandemic disrupted the country. A majority of the businesses got hampered severely leaving the employees perplexed. In April 2021, a firm named Ambit Collective LLP hired a fresh batch of high school interns for a short period. Being in the business for less than a year, the motive of the company was to build a team of interns who could research what is happening in the corporate world. However, the second wave of the pandemic stopped the company’s work and operations. While many employees and interns were worried about their job, a young and bright guy named Yuvan Kapur came up with a unique idea.
Yuvan coined the idea of a giveback project during one of the company’s meetings online. Observing Gen-Z being accustomed to tech and social media, Yuvan noticed the rising number of fake leads being circulated over the internet. The concept indeed left the management of the company impressed after which Project GiveBack came to life. Being appointed as a Project Lead, it was a challenging task for Yuvan to plan and execute the project. With a concrete plan and inputs from interns and employees of the company, the project was announced by Ambit Collective LLP on April 21, 2021. Having the small targets and milestones set, the entire team worked relentlessly to extract leads from social media.
The project conceptualized by the 15-year old intern turned out to be a huge success for the company. In a week, a link was generated of about 65 leads for oxygen, ICU beds, plasma and medicines that were verified and circulated across social media. The technology team at the company kept a close tab to ascertain the traffic. To everyone’s surprise, more than 300 clicks were received in the first hour, and after a month, more than 7000 people had access to the information that was circulated through this project. Well, such courageous works done by young and bright minds like Yuvan restores our faith in the fact that the future is in safer hands. Isn’t Yuvan’s journey at Ambit Collective LLP an inspiring tale?
