Intel India launched the 3rd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors in the country on April 16. It is reported to bring in nearly 50 per cent performance improvement generation over generation, with capabilities and features that support the most-in-demand workload requirements.
Why do we change? We change to survive. We change to stay relevant. We change to experience something new. And today, more than ever, driven by uncertainties and fueled by new capabilities, we are changing fast. Our lives have transformed from what they were two decades ago. Our needs have, too. And organizations worldwide are taking note. Intel is taking note.
Known for launching technologies that don’t just aid but lead transformations, Intel launched its 3rd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors on April 16, 2021, at its flagship event, ‘How Wonderful Gets Done’.
Governments, organizations, and people around the world are battling multiple challenges. Intel is motivated to find solutions to these challenges. The 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors are designed to equip businesses with the right tools to battle the issues of today and tomorrow.
What does the future look like?
Data-fuelled enterprises need processors that can keep pace with changing parameters, markets, and ecosystems. Moreover, to ensure scalability is never compromised, they need flexible infrastructure optimized for multi-cloud and AI-driven environments. Workloads such as AI and video analytics are happening at the edge. And improved performance, manageability, and security take centre stage for IoT deployments.
The 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors represent a modern and robust platform for cloud-optimized, 5G-ready, and next-generation virtual networks. It is completely in sync with the vision of a digitally inclusive India. The processors are reported to bring in nearly 50 per cent performance improvement generation over generation, with capabilities and features that support the most-in-demand workload requirements. It is set to redefine the next era of performance and help customers get the best from their assets.
Think: a retailer providing high-end customer experience while ensuring smooth inventory management and supply chain efficiency; a manufacturer surrounded by connected machines and connected products, which improve productivity, optimize performance, and enable insights; a healthcare provider diagnosing diseases at speed and scale—in short, the customers getting what they want, where they want, without friction.
“In a world where infrastructure has to deliver high performance and be flexible at the same time, the 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor caters exactly to that. It is the only processor with built-in AI and security solutions. This creates the magic of next-generation infrastructure that can bring the vision of a digitally-enabled inclusive India to life," said Prakash Mallya, Vice President and Managing Director of the Sales, Marketing and Communications Group, Intel India, at the event.
By 2025, 75 per cent of all data is likely to be generated outside of a core data center. The data centres of the future will look very different from how they do today. They will be more distributed in size and location, leveraging pools of data with security architected right at the chip level and with flexibility extending across hardware and software.
“At the heart of our unmatched portfolio is our Xeon processor, which is the foundation for the cloud, the network, and the edge. It is designed with security and acceleration for critical workloads such as AI. It is the greatest processor that we have ever built," says Navin Shenoy, Executive Vice President (EVP) and GM, Data Platforms Group.
‘How Wonderful Gets Done’ was one of the grandest online events in the technology space. It witnessed stalwarts from across domains, with insightful sessions on some of the most game-changing technologies in the industry. Leaders from Intel partner firms – C-DAC, Fractal, Reliance Jio, VMware and Wipro - graced the event with their presence and led some pretty interesting discussions that you wouldn’t want to miss.
