Unreasonable Impact created with Barclays aims to support entrepreneurs who are leveraging cutting-edge technology to develop innovative solutions that address the world’s most pressing social and environmental challenges, including food security, clean energy, waste management and more.

Giridhar, a wheat farmer, spares no effort or cost in cultivating wheat in his small farm. But he doesn’t always get the price he believes he deserves. Differences in opinions about quality often lead to different pricing expectations between farmers, retailers and food service companies. So how can different parties reach a common agreement? Intello Labs is helping them do that. The company has developed AI-powered tools that use computer vision and deep learning to rate agri products based on standard criteria. An objective algorithmic rating system enables an informed pricing negotiation between the parties. All involved know the exact quality of the produce, allowing them to settle on a fair price. Consequently, it also improves customer satisfaction and reduces food wastage, making the agriculture supply chain more efficient.

Intello Labs is part of Unreasonable Impact, a first-of-its-kind international accelerator programme that empowers mission-driven businesses to make lasting and scalable change. The programme, created by Barclays and Unreasonable Group, has been in action for the last six years and has supported more than 200 ventures so far.
