Investors are ready to play with crypto again, as shown by the rising prices of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Digital asset investment products gained $117 million in cash inflows last week.
This could signify a melting crypto winter, along with other factors such as investors expecting the federal reserve to shorten its rate hikes to a low of 0.25%.
Certain market watchers said that stocks could be another crucial driver of growth fueling blue-chip cryptos right now. This is because Bitcoin’s current level of correlation with the NASDAQ is fixed at 0.94. That’s the highest level of correlation seen since May 2022.
Ethereum, which moves with Bitcoin in a positive correlation, has enjoyed price highs too.
On Sunday, the market saw Ethereum creep up to a high of $1653.73, breaking above the $1650 mark which was viewed by many investors as the bearish gates closing off any possible price increase.
Bitcoin and Ethereum’s price hikes are one of many indicators of widespread hunger for large crypto gains. The fear and greed index created by Coinglass is at a relative high of 61. 0 means extreme fear and 100 means extreme greed. The figure shows that investors are committing their capital to crypto but are being cautious at the same time.
Crypto trading average trading volumes rose by 11% as well according to CoinShares. Exchange analysts at BitFinex said short-term traders are now selling their Bitcoin at a profit while long-term traders are hodling their portfolio, not contributing to selling pressure.
Bitcoin’s market share was always large but 41% in January is the highest its been since July 2022.
