Mumbai, March 23, 2023: Over the years we have seen changes in the world of people and how different work is defined for each one of them. The mere relationship between work and workers has grown stronger, purpose-driven rather than task-oriented. Every HR leader tries to build an organization that builds leaders with commitment, courage, and confidence. Sapphire Connect recently concluded the 3rd Annual ReThink HR Conclave | Mumbai Edition that was held on the 14th of March 2023 at Hotel Taj Santacruz, Mumbai. The conclave witnessed around 25+ speakers and 150+ delegates and was a huge success.
Our Guest of Honour Mr. Umar Ali Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer, Atos India and Member of Thought Leaders of India addressed the audience on ‘HR Leaders: CEO's True Partners’. They say a successful employee experience program takes care of every demand of the employee. Making their workdays better is the goal. Employees will have access to the appropriate equipment, technology, and working environment. During the inaugural panel discussion when asked, Mr.Kumar Priyaranjan, Chief Human Resources Officer, Welspun Corp how you connect with people, and how you create that employee value proposition through experience he said, “During one of the conversations in the boardroom it was decided that let’s go to the sites and discuss there rather than sitting in the corporate. So the team went to the sites and the discussion was about what people expect us to do. What we came up with was that experience needs to be highly customized within the organization. It must be done based on expectations from people across generations." Adding to this, Mr.Colin Mendes, Head of Human Resources, Voltas Beko said, “One of the things that we found very effective was, we introduced rewards and recognition and ran this program, and we recognized their efforts and achievements and excellence. This made a lot of difference as people felt that even small things they did that had a larger impact on the organization was being recognized at a larger forum."

Redeployment is nothing but a workforce management strategy for the internal movement of the workforce. Talent is identified and moved from one work area within the organization that no longer requires staffing, to areas within the business that are expanding. Expressing how employees should scale at redeployment, Mr. Jitendra Sharma, President Group HR, Shree Renuka Sugars, said, “The IDP’s that we need to create for each and every role is different. It has the objective the scope but we need to think about the person their qualifications and their career thinking and what the company requires". While talking about a survey conducted on Women at Work, Ms. Meghna Jaruhar, Practice Lead : Diversity & Inclusion, Associate Director, Harappa stated on the needs of women at work. She said, “Women want career advancement. They want compensation. They want purposeful work. They want to know where they are going in their work. They want to get paid for their skills and the experience they bring to the table. And they want to know what they are working on actually means something".
From adopting gig economy best practices to expanding the use of AI, HR has transformed over the years. During the panel discussion on ‘Web 3.0: Transforming HR tech to be more Agile, Data-Centric and AI-driven’, Ms. Pratima Pinto Thomas, Head HR, Fino Payments Bank, shared her views that, “HR is known already to handle one of the most agile perspectives of the organization and that is the mind of an employee. So now we have to think on how efficiently work towards contributing towards the business being a little more agile and that’s where technology comes in. In talent management right from the process or goal setting to the rewards, the employee experience, the learnings and skilling in fact the entire life cycle of an employee can be managed through various aspects of technology."

The conclave also organized Speed Connect an exclusive one-of-its-kind opportunity for recruitment agencies and academic institutions who had the chance to meet from an extensive list of employment partners. The Speed Connect witnessed around 75+ Employment partners, 125+ Recruitment partners, 100+ Academic partners and 150+ MOU’s at the event. Dr. Kavita Pandey, Placement Officer, Alkesh Dinesh Mody Institute for Financial and Management Studies, the University of Mumbaiwho attended as an Academic Partner said, “I congratulate Sapphire Connect for the success of Rethink HR Conclave and Speed Connect program.
