India’s largest selling large size 4K TV brand, Vu Televisions, made its foray into the D2C space with the launch of an all-new online store on Wednesday. With this move, the brand plans to redefine its presence in the country and projects its D2C business to cross the 500 crore revenue mark by 2022.

Started in 2006, Vu Televisions have become a household name in India. The TVs are much in demand from both the Gen Z and the Millennials for their appealing aesthetics and great performance. The company is currently selling 3 million TVs in the Indian market every year with consolidated sales touching 5,000 crore.

During the lockdown the brand had been flooded with requests to make its products more accessible and affordable. Tapping on the popularity, Vu Televisions aims to grow its reach to the customer through the newly launched www.vustore.com, an online platform which promises a “unique buying experience" for the customers. It is the first high-end D2C store in India with an average selling price of 20,000.

The online store offers the best prices on Vu products, faster deliveries and installations, and a 100 per cent assurance that the products you are purchasing are authentic. The shopping process itself is guided by a human interface at the backend who will help you select the right products to suit your requirements and not an automated bot, as is the prevailing trend.

“Today’s Gen-Z and Millennial buyers are the most informed, intelligent and connected generation in history. We’ve taken their requests seriously and launched a platform that addresses their needs without compromising on the luxury brand experience that Vu is famous for. Our hardworking youth deserves the best brand, product and service, and we at Vu take this as our motivation to launch our D2C platform www.vustore.com and build it into a 500 crore business in 2022," said Devita Saraf, Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Vu Televisions.

Vu Televisions is a self-funded business and is one of the only 100 per cent debt-free and profitable companies in the consumer tech industry. The brand owes this to the successful balance of its distribution across offline and online platforms, with a 50-50 ratio strategy. It takes pride in its customer repeat ratio, which stands at a staggering 97 per cent, and attributes this to best in class customer experience in the industry.

“We are not a company which is interested in selling a product to you and then forgetting about it. We want to maintain our customers and that is why so many people are Vu fans, Vu loyalists, who come back to us again and again. For this, we are giving brand warranty," said Saraf.

Vu Television expects to sell 25,000 TVs worth 60 crore during the initial phase of the D2C launch. For the future, the vision at Vu Televisions is to make the 43 inch TV the entry level model for Indian households. At present, Indian families prefer the 32 inch TV for its price affordability. But, with the kind of content that is available on OTT platforms today, this dilutes the entire viewing experience.

Vu Premium 43" TVs are packed with the latest features and are affordable on the pocket too and are being priced to take away the market share of the smaller sizes in the industry. Vu Premium 43" 4K TVs will be sold at the price of 24,999, which is currently the price of FHD TVs. For the budget friendly, Vu Premium 43" FHD TVs will be sold at a price of 19,999 i.e. equivalent to the price of 32" TVs.

Presently, the range of Vu TVs available in the market include The Vu Masterpiece QLED TV, Vu Cinema TV Action series and Vu Premium TV.
