Home/ Brand Stories / Ziqitza Healthcare urges people not to make fake calls to emergency number 108

Ziqitza Healthcare ltd (ZHL) India’s largest private pre hospital care company who manages the integrated 108 ambulance service and tele helpline 104 in various states, remarks, instead of helping people in case of any health emergency, the call center of 108 “Emergency" services is being used by some mischievous elements to make fake calls and waste time. Regarding this, Ziqitza Healthcare Limited, has issued an advisory alerting such miscreants and warned not to make unnecessary calls.

In the year 2021 itself, 18.77 Lakh people made fake calls and blank calls on 108 call centers, while in the year 2022 till the month of July, 8.85 Lakh people made unnecessary calls to the call centers in the state of Jharkhand.

Mr. Milton Singh, Project Head, Ziqitza Healthcare, Jharkhand said, “108 is the service number of “Emergency" service. This service is provided by us to the people of the state 24 hours a day. But today this number has become a medium to pass the time for the manipulatives. Perhaps they do not realize that these fake calls of theirs can deprive the needy of the necessary help. Due to the fake calls made by these anti-social elements, the call traffic on the helpline increases a lot, and many times the calls of the needy people are not able to reach the helpline. It sounds simple to read, but the result is equally serious. Sometimes people have to pay the price by losing their loved ones.

Speaking about this, Mr. Jitendra Sharma – Head of Government Business, further added the team at Ziqitza Limited and the citizens who call in time of need work together to fulfill their responsibilities, which is when the 108 “Emergency" service team is able to serve with complete dedication. But a fake call made by some idle or pranksters person works to spoil everyone's hard work. Thousands of fake calls are made by these people every day. The number of such calls is higher in women's shifts i.e. in the morning hours. Women employees are sometimes abused and bullied by these maniacs, which is embarrassing as well as a matter of serious concern. At the same time, many fake calls come for balance recharge, gas cylinder, other irrelevant information and some blank calls also come due to which a lot of time gets wasted. At the same time, some numbers were also found from which calls have been received thousands of times. Similar cases were observed in the past by Ziqitza Rajasthan.

108 "Emergency" service is used by people during emergency medical service, and till date 108 "Emergency" service has also been successful in saving thousands of lives. The credit for this goes to the entire team of 108 "Emergency" service, as well as to those aware citizens, who after seeing an accident not only talk, but also come forward and help the victim, and immediately makes a call on 108.
