New Delhi: Bajaj Auto launched a new version of the Dominar Sports Tourer with a smaller 250cc engine. The new bike is priced at ₹1.6 lakh (ex-showroom in Delhi). Compared to the 400cc version, the 250cc version is ₹30,000 cheaper.
The new engine will produce 27PS power. The company claims the new 250cc bike will be an ideal choice for riders wanting to make way in the tourer category. The new bike will be available at all Bajaj Auto dealerships in dual channel ABS variant. The bike will be offered in Canyon Red and Vine Black.
The new Dominar 250 is powered by a 249 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled, 4 Stroke, fuel injected engine. The 248.77cc engine puts out 23.5Nm torque at 6,500 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The engine has been borrowed from the popular 250cc KTM Duke.
The styling of the new Dominar is similar to the 400cc version but it will get smaller tyres and regular rear-view mirrors. The bike will still get a muscular-looking fuel tank, a digital instrument cluster and an LED headlamp setup. The rear tail lamps will also get the signature LEDs. The bike gets a small windscreen.
Both wheels get disc brakes with dual channel ABS as standard. The front wheel gets telescopic USD forks suspension with 135mm of travel. The rear wheel will get Multi-step adjustable Monoshock with Nitrox, Wheel stroke of 110mm. The bike gets twin barrel exhaust and alloy wheels. The 250cc version has a kerb weight of 180kgs.
