New Delhi: Pepsico India-owned sports drink brand Gatorade India on Thursday announced it has signed on athlete Hima Das as its brand ambassador. The 19-year old joins athletes P.V. Sindhu and Neeraj Chopra who also promote the brand in India.

In an upcoming campaign ‘Nothing Beats Hima. Nothing Beats Gatorade’, the brand will pay tribute to the sprint runner while building on the brand’s belief that sports performance is driven from within. Gatorade India also said it will work with Das during the period of partnership to understand her training and race-day nutrition better.

Gatorade claims that its formula has the right amount of fluids, electrolytes and carbohydrates that can help an athlete rehydrate, replenish and refuel while playing any sport.

“We are delighted to welcome Hima Das into Gatorade’s family of athletes. Hima personifies the spirit of the brand through her persevering attitude and unwavering spirit to win. We believe that Gatorade is the perfect fuel to partner with Hima Das as she sets out to achieve new accolades for the country," said Tarun Bhagat, director-marketing, hydration and cola, PepsiCo India.

Gatorade has been actively working with sportspersons across the world. In the last few years, the brand has worked with Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, Argentine professional footballer Lionel Messi, and American tennis star Serena Williams and Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez, among others.

In India, the brand brought on board ace shuttler P.V. Sindhu in 2017, followed by javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra in 2018.
