New Delhi: In a win for Adani Gas, the Supreme Court on Tuesday set aside the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board's (PNGRB’s) order withdrawing the no-objection certificate to the company for laying gas pipelines in the cities of Jaipur and Udaipur.
The PNGRB was asked to take a fresh decision on the issue of laying pipelines in the two cities.
Adani was before the top court challenging the withdrawal of the no-objection certificate for the pipeline network by the Rajasthan government in May 2011. It was Adani's claim that 25% of the pipeline had been laid at the time when approval was withdrawn and a lot of money had been invested to develop infrastructure for the project.
The gas company had challenged the withdrawal of the no-objection certificate before the Rajasthan high court which was dismissed in 2015. An appeal against the dismissal was moved in the apex court.
