PremiumNew Delhi: No-frill carrier SpiceJet Limited on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bahrain's flag carrier Gulf Air to explore greater co-operation between the two airlines, the Gurgaon-headquartered airline said in a statement.
According to the MoU, both airlines will explore interline and code-share agreement, co-ordinate cargo services, engineering services and pilot training.
"The partnership will immensely benefit the two airlines and our passengers in times to come," SpiceJet's chairman and managing director, Ajay Singh, said in a statement. "The Middle East has always been our top priority markets."
SpiceJet currently operates about 630 daily flights to several domestic and international destinations. It has a fleet size of 118 aircraft, including 82 Boeing 737, 32 Bombardier Q-400s and four B737 freighters.
