Days after its transformation into ‘X’, Twitter was forced to remove its company logo from its San Fransisco headquarters on Monday in the afternoon hours, reported ANI citing The Hill.
The ‘X’ logo was removed from the company headquarters in San Francisco after local residents and officials. The Hill stated that the workers removed the luminous sign after receiving complaints from city residents and officials.
The logo was put up last week during the company's re-branding. However, the the installation of the logo attracted investigation into the company's headquarter last week.
According to Patrick Hannan, a spokesman for the Department of construction Inspection, "a building permit is necessary to ensure the sign is structurally sound and installed safely."
The old Twitter sign on the building's side, which police had prevented workers from removing, was in “unsafe condition”, according to complaints filed on Friday. A city inspector's attempt to access the roof where the X sign was installed was also turned down by the business, reported ANI citing The Hill. The "X" building was purportedly described by an X spokesperson as a "temporary lighted sign for an event.
The announcement of the rebranding of the social media site, formerly known as Twitter, was made a week earlier by Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Musk also changes his profile avatar to “X” logo.
The micro blogging site went through a tremendous transformation after the takeover by Elon Musk in October last year. There were a number of changes made in the site, including restrictions on how many direct messages users can send and how many tweets they can view. The company had also appointed Linda Yaccarino, a former NBCUniversal advertising executive as the CEO of X by Elon Musk in May.
Elon Musk, last week, announced that the number of the social media site X, had hit a “new high” after certain organisational changes.
