New Delhi: Vietnam budget carrier Vietjet will commence direct flight operations between India and Vietnam from December. Ho Chi Minh City-New Delhi flights will on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays starting from 6 December, while services from Hanoi will start from 7 December with flights on the remaining three days of the week. Vietjet also announced special promotional fares for the two new routes under a three-day booking scheme (August 20-22).
Vietjet is offering tickets priced at ₹9 onwards (excluding VAT, airport fees and other surcharges). The promotional tickets are up for grabs till 22 August. According to its post on Facebook, 8,000 seats are available under this promotional offer.

"India is one of our priority markets and an important addition to our growing network," new agency IANS quoted Nguyen Thanh Son, Vietjet's Vice President, as saying.
In March 2018 Vietjet had announced plans to connect India with four weekly flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Delhi. Before that in 2017 also, it had planned three weekly services on this route.
India's biggest carrier IndiGo has already announced flights services to Vietnam from October. Effective October 3, subject to government approvals, IndiGo will operate its non-stop daily flights between Kolkata and Hanoi, the airline had said in a statement.
Currently, Vietjet operates around 400 flights daily, carrying more than 80 million passengers to date, with 129 routes covering destinations across Vietnam and international destinations. (With Agency Inputs)
