New Delhi: YouTube has opened entries for NextUp 2019 to support and encourage the next generation of creators and artists from India and has announced three new editions that it will launch this year. These include NextUp for Artists, NextUp Women To Watch and NextUp for Gamers.
YouTube NextUp provides creators an opportunity to be mentored by production and channel development experts and learn new production techniques to further enhance their content. It also provides creators an opportunity to collaborate with other talented creators, and be a part of the global NextUp community.
Speaking on YouTube NextUp 2019 Marc Lefkowitz, head, YouTube Creator and Artist Development, APAC, said, “YouTube today reaches over 265 million Indians every month, and has a vibrant and growing creator ecosystem. We have come a long way from where we were 5 years ago, with just 5 Creators crossing the 1M subscriber mark, to today, where we have over 1200 channels. Right from the start, we have been invested in growing the creator and artist community, and it’s our mission to help creators be discovered, build a business and succeed on our platform."
The NextUp for Artists will support artists who are passionate about creating music videos, or are committed to showing fans the “behind the scene" moments of their careers as musicians. The NextUp Women To Watch is a first-ever initiative for women-creators of YouTube that aims to enable and empower female creators and their audience while NextUp for Gamers is for those passionate about gaming.
