An alumnus of St Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, Rajeev Talwar started his career as a probationary officer with State Bank of India. He was selected for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1978. As an IAS officer, Talwar held a number of key positions in the central government as well as state governments.
Talwar has been with DLF Ltd since 2006, when he joined the company as a group executive director.
What is your greatest extravagance?
My greatest indulgence is my friends and family.
What is your current state of mind?
Totally upbeat about the future of my country and our company.
What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Seniority.
What talent would you most like to have?
Time management and patience.
If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?
Return as an IAS officer who is able to motivate the bureaucracy to change the country.
What is your greatest regret?
Yet to see India as a country with $20 trillion GDP.
