PremiumNEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore (IIM-B) Friday said it has received 518 job offers for its 428 students with consulting firms offering bulk of the jobs.
After completion of its final placements, the elite B-School said while consulting firms offered 147 offers, just five companies -- Accenture (26), Boston Consulting Group (23), Bain & Co (20), Kearney (15), and McKinsey & Co (14) were the top recruiters and offered almost 20% of the total jobs.
“Prominent domestic and international recruiters participated in the final placements which resulted in premium jobs for the students. There was a 6.14% increase in the total number of jobs offered compared to the previous year," said U. Dinesh Kumar, a professor and head of the Career Development Services at IIM-B.
Key IT recruiters who made 38 offers include Microsoft IDC, Tata Consulting Service, Razorpay and and Sprinklr and from the e-commerce segment Amazon with 20 job offers was the lead recruiters at the school.
In the finance sector Goldman Sachs, Avendus Capital and JP Morgan were the lead firms that offered maximum offers. While financial firms made 42 offers, the conglomerates including Aditya Birla Group, Tata Administrative Services, Adani Group made offered to hire 60 students.
Earlier this week, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) had said that it has completed this year's placement process with its students bagging an average salary of and of ₹28 lakh per annum, a 10% growth from 2019.
IIM Calcutta said 136 firms offered 492 jobs to its 439 outgoing students making them eligible to accept the best offers. The premier B-School said while the average annual package of the entire batch was ₹28 lakh, the salary of top 10% and best quartile of the outgoing batch averaged at an all-time high of ₹54.5 lakh and ₹41.8 lakh, respectively.
IIM-B did not disclose its salary details.
