NEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Management (IMM), Bangalore and XLRI Jamshedpur are the only two management schools from India that have been featured in a new ranking of top 30 leading global B-schools. The first edition of the Positive Impact Rating for Business Schools was released at the World Economic Forum in Davos this week. Unlike other rankings, this new list weighs management schools on its societal responsibility and impact.
While IIM Bangalore was ranked in the 'Transforming School's category, XLRI was in the 'Progressing schools' category. The list of top global business schools includes Antwerp Management School in Belgium, University of California in Berkeley, Amsterdam Business School and London Business School.
The “transforming schools" show a positive impact culture, embedded in governance and systems, with visible results in a number of impact dimensions while the list of “progressing schools" show results across some impact dimensions.
"The millennial B-School students have clearly expressed their views on the importance of positive impact on society at large. This benign realization marks a paradigm shift and would foster a collaborative ecosystem and make the process of management education more meaningful and purpose-oriented," said XLRI director Fr. P. Christie S.J.
