ISB claims 1,383 job offers to its students on Day One of placement season

The premier B-School claimed that its students bagged an average salary of ₹26.15 lakh per annum

    New Delhi: The Indian School of Business (ISB) Tuesday claimed that recruiters have made 1,383 job offers on Day One of its final placement season with consulting and technology firms being top recruiters.

    ISB, which has two campuses in Hyderabad and Mohali, said this year’s final placement has got a better response than previous placement season when 1,194 offers were made. The B-School, which generally starts its placement season ahead of Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), said 231 companies, including 65 first-time recruiters hired from ISB this year.

    The B-School claimed that its students bagged an average salary of 26.15 lakh per annum. Consulting and technology firms were the top recruiters. While consulting firms made 22.75% of the total offers, information technology (IT) and IT enabled sectors made 15% of the total offers. E-commerce and financial firms are other top recruiters.

    In the outgoing batch, ISB has 890 students and students get more than one job offer before deciding on which one they wish to join.

    “With the largest class size in India of 890 students, ISB’s PGP offers a top-quality talent pool. The diversity and experience of the PGP class are the main draws for recruiters," ISB dean Rajendra Srivastava said in a statement.

    ISB said consulting companies continued to hire in large numbers with Accenture, Alvarez and Marsal, AT Kearney, Bain and Company, Boston Consulting Group, Dalberg, Deloitte India, Deloitte USI, E&Y, EY Parthenon, GEP, KPMG, McKinsey & Company, PWC DIAC, PWC India, Roland Berger, Siemens Management Consulting and ZS Associates making a total of 314 offers between them.

    In technology space, companies like Microsoft, Google, InMobi, Amazon and Uber were the top recruiters. BFSI companies including Axis Bank, Citibank, Credit Suisse, Estee Advisors, ICICI Bank, Matrix Partners hired in large numbers. Investment banking and private equity firms such as American Express, Barclays, Bexley Advisors etc “came on board this year".

    The B-School said international recruiters like Apple (South Asia), Deloitte Middle East, EY Parthenon and Landmark Group hired from ISB for senior management positions.
