UGC NET Answer Key 2026 Highlights: NTA opens provisional key challenge window at ugcnet.nta.nic.in

On revision of UGC NET provisional answer key, NTA said challenges made by candidates will be verified by the designated subject matter experts and the key will be modified if any challenge is found correct. The revised final answer key will be published on the official website before the results are declared.

No, NTA has not released UGC NET provisional answer key for all 87 subjects. According to the testing agency, a fresh notice for three remaining subjects, namely English, Commerce and Sociology, will be issued later today.

Candidates can challenge UGC NET provisional answer key until 18 August.

NTA emphasized the need to submit supporting documentary evidence to challenge UGC NET provisional answer key. The testing agency said, “Challenges will be accepted online only, through the official portal at http://ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Each challenge must be supported by documentary evidence. Challenges received through any other mode will not be entertained.”

NTA in a post on X said, “In respect of the three remaining subjects, namely English, Commerce and Sociology, a Committee was constituted to examine the complaints received regarding various types of errors in the question papers. Based on the recommendations of the Committee, a separate Public Notice concerning these three subjects is being issued later today.”

NTA in a post on X announced the release of Provisional answer keys for 84 subjects of UGC-NET June 2026 and said, “The challenge window is now open.”

While the NTA conducted the UGC NET exam across 87 subjects, it is inviting candidates to raise objections in 84 subjects. For the three remaining subjects — English, Commerce and Sociology — a committee has been formed to look into complaints regarding several errors in the question papers.

According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), challenges raised online through official portal at ugcnet.nta.ac.in will only be considered valid, whereas those requests made via other portals will not be entertained.

• Only those challenges submitted via online mode during the stipulated window, along with the requisite fee will be entertained.
• “If a challenge is accepted by the subject experts, the resulting correction will be applied uniformly to all candidates of that subject. Candidates therefore do not need to raise the same challenge more than once,” NTA's notice states.

UGC NET answer key challenge window will open today once the provisional key is released.

The last date to challenge UGC NET provisional answer key 2026 is 18 August. After this deadline candidates will not be able to raise objections.

Candidates will be charged ₹200 processing fee per question to challenge UGC NET provisional answer key 2026. This amount will be refunded in full if challenge is accepted.

NTA in a post on X stated, "Joint CSIR UGC NET June 2026 candidates can now access the provisional answer key and challenge window. Please review the details carefully and use the official portal to submit challenges from 16 to 18 August 2026, up to 11:00 PM."
